I'm 6'1 and 225 lbs and a responsible person; however, I've never rode a street bike. Is the Suzuki Boulevader C50T too much bike for me as a learner? From the research I've done everyone says get a 250cc - 500cc bike. Please advise.

I'm back riding again after about a 20 year hiatus. I bought the c-50 T about a month ago. I'm 5'8" and about 220. I use it to commute 2-3 days a week and for day trips on the weekend. I'd like to get into more riding with it. I have about 1300 miles on it.
I was hesitant at first but the bike is extremely maneuverable. It looks big, but it's not. It actually feels a little light at highway speeds. I've never had any problems changing positions in turns no matter what speed. It's powerful enough for my wife and I to climb up the Sierra passes (9,000 feet) with enough power to pass when needed without having to down shift. The problem I have is that I drag the floorboards on some turns. It happened once on Highway 49 and once on 120 climbing into Yosemite. It's happened on a few city streets as well. That buzz feeling in my foot really slows me down.
I wouldn't go with a lesser bike because you will want a new one inside of a month. You won't have any problems with it. It's perfect for me, although I dream of a bigger bike like a Nomad.
