Without knowing your background as far as riding experience and ergonomic needs, it's hard to say. It's a good bike. You may want to check out www.vroc.org. I know one of the members is selling a 2006 900LT for 6800 with only 900 miles on it.

It's kinda late for a response now, but if you didn't get the Vulcan 900, I own the 900 Classic, you missed a great ride. I stepped up from a 750 to the 900 classic, and I am sooo glad I did. So far, I love the bike. It is well balanced and has plenty of power for the roads. I am somewhat of a novice rider, and have had my share of reccomendations as to what bike to get. I made the choice on my own and looking back, on all the choices I had, I MADE THE RIGHT ONE. All my Harley friends can't believe the price I paid for the stylish design and power of this bike. I bought a 2006 in March of 2007, and got it for barely over 6 grand, I am riding today, within an hour of this email, and can't wait. It has excellent handling, comfort and looks. It feels lighter than my old 750 (2006 model) and this 900 is my 3rd bike ever. So far I have less than 1000 miles, but I put 3K on the 750 in less than a year. The 900 Classic (mine's silver) is a great bike for the money, and I get great looks while crusing in town or on the highway. Great Bike, Good Lick

The 900 Vulcan and Suzuki C50 are both great cruisers. My '03 Suzuki Volusia(carborated model) has served me well so far.The Kawi has belt drive, rear disk brake, and a little more power...too bad it wasn't offered in '03

I have a 2006 V900LT and love it. I've added some extra chorme, cobra pipes and white wall tires to it. An it looks great! It handles well on the open road and in town. It's a very good bike for the money and you will be happy with it.

I have an 06 900 LT and I have really enjoyed this bike. It has been very reliable and fun to ride. The performance is not going to win any races, but is decent for it's size. I have over 7000 miles on this bike with no problems. Aftermarket parts are starting to become more available for this bike. I have put on a set of Cobra speedsters(Long) and it gives the bike a nice sound.

I Bought my vn900 this time last year, just after i'd passed my test. it's the first big bike i've owned, so needless to say i was a little concerned after my nerves had settled and I got onto the road; British roads are not exactly brilliant for cruiser riding, i've not look back. My advice, go for it; I'm pretty sure you won't regret it

I bought a 2007 vulcan 900 lt and I am very happy with it. It is very comfortable and rides great right out of the box. For the money you can beat what you get. I will be adding some pipes. Its too quiet for my liking.

I returned to riding in 2001 after 30 years with the purchase of a new Suzuki Volusia (800cc). Great bike but I wanted a little more power for teo up riding. With price being a major consideration I stepped up to a 2003 Kawasaki 1500 Classic (carb.) I later rejetted and added Cobra 2 into one pipes and a KN filter. The power increase was great.
Health and financial problems forced me to sell my chromed and accessorized baby, but I am now looking again.
The 900 Kawasaki looks intersting, but I am wondering how it will compare with the old 1500 with carb and shaft drive.

I purchased a 2007 vulcan classic 900 lt in May and have been very impressed with the bike. I have just over 5000 miles on it and have only 2 small complaints. The speedo is not correct and the odometer is off also. It registers 1.1miles for every mile you go. and have to be doing 61 or 62 to be doing 55. Also fuel guage is inaccurate

My fuel gauge did not work either, so they replaced my sending unit. It works better now, but not great. I know my speedometer is off a bit. When I register 60, I am really doing about 57-58. Not sure if the odometer is off or not.

I purchased my 2007 vn900 at the beginning of July and now have 7200 miles on it, My speedometer and odometer are off also. I had the shop call the tech. line to see if it was warrantied and Kawasaki told them that was normal up to 10% off! What a crock! There should be a recall if most of them are off. Depreciating our bikes by showing more miles than are actually on there!

I just last week bought a 900 classic lt. It is my very first bike. I had not riden in over 30 years. I had no problem at all. I also love the bike. My son has a 1200 custom H/D. he told me that my bike actually rides and handles better that his. He is 29 and has been riding since he was 6 years old. I would say if you like the bike, buy it, it is a very nice ride.

The speedo error is typical on most Japanese and European bikes. Harley is the only one that I know of that is close to being correct.
