Spending the night in Oakland ,parked in front of the hotel was a V65 Magna in perfect condition. The same bike that got me involved w/ cruisers.Looking it over I was reminded of all the high tech features this monster had, adjustible suspension w/adjustible anti dive forks, shaft drive, front & rear disc brakes, overdrive 6 speed tranny, self canceling turn signals, cast wheels. The same blue paint my V65 was ! Power-tons of it.3rd gear burnouts were so fun but 1200-1400 miles on the rear tire usually forced me to be easy w/ the throttle.I wish the new cruisers had suspension like it.

You can pick one up on the cheap if you look hard enough.  Well, as long as you don't mind doing some wrenching.  I got my '84 V65 for $900, but it needs a bunch of work.  Still an amazing bike though, and they're gaining value instead of losing it!
