Zongshen, UM, Hyosung

I was criuos to konw, if anyone has seem any of the sports styled motorcycles by ZONGSHEN, UMMOTORS, and HYOSUNG, enough to give their opinion, as if they were buy one, or not.... let me know.... And tank you...  

Personally I would not save a couple bucks to ride an inferior product. Dont cheap out on the only thing between you and the road  

actually, with Suzuki product capital under their belt, Um (Hyosung) products are far from inferior. They offer an excellent product for way less money. UM offers a three year warranty(dont save a couple of bucks?)awesome horespower to weight ratio, smooth powerplant(this engine beat ALL comers in the eight hours at Daytona)and the opportunity to afford. They look great, ride great and they are starting to show up everywhere! There is no brand loyalty when it comes to the most bang for your buck. Dont be afraid, because they are here to stay, and thats good for everyone that rides. Go demo one and see if you can convince yourself otherwise.  

I've not seen one of these yet in person, and I'm not sure how long they've been in production for overseas consumption.  Remember when Hyundai first came to the US market?  They were pretty crappy (as were most cars back in the early 80's).  But the company has largely caught up with their Japanese competitors and now put out a quality product.  I think one thing the Korean companies need to do is market their products under a more American market friendly name / subsidiary.  As far as quality of these bikes, time will tell.  

There were three hyosung GV-250 s in our family for a while.  i traded my bike in for a Suzuki C-90-T.  Reason?  The two up ridability of the Suzi.  t6he GV-250 is a good bike and comes in a sport model as well as a cruiser.  The only problem with the Hyosung is the severe lack of support for parts and accessories.  The seats suck ( naturally) but are easily modified to make them wider and the addition of a gel pad does wonders. There isa Piglet Riders list on Yahoo (too small to be called a harley.  At a retail of around 3500 they provide the most bang for the buck.  I rode mine over 23,000 kilometers before trading it in.  hope this helps  

A lot has changed, I have found that there are dealers everywhere that will service your Hyosung bikes and if you look on the internet you will find just about anything you may want for your bike.  Try Asian Iron, CBXMan, Richard Hyosung to name just a few that have a high level of quantity and quality of accessories for these bikes.  If anyone has any questions about these bikes please pop over to "Pride In What You Ride" or "Alternative Cruiser" to talk to people who actually own these bikes and make parts for them.  

So far I have over 1200 miles on mine and it runs better now than it did when I first bought it.  I have had this bike over 80 mph and feel in complete control.  I have ridden many of the smaller "brand" bikes and they do not compare to this one.  It is a lot of bike for the money.  To date, I have added saddlebags, fork bag and backrest.  Things I plan to add are windshield, highway bars, solo backrest and other goodies.  I strongly recommend these bikes and I know a lot of other riders who would do the same.

Please refrain from making comments on a bike unless you own one or have at least ridden one.  People who ride these bikes are as proud of their rides as any other brand owners.  It gives people the wrong idea and may scare off potential owners/riders.

Check them out.  Give them a chance to make a believer out of you.  

I forgot to mention.  If you look through the internet you will find an article that MotorCycle Cruiser did on several different smaller bikes including the big brands.  The GV250 rated very high in several different areas.  Just Google GV250 and you should be able to find the article.  

I just picked up my 2008 GV650 on Wednesday and I love it.  Handles traffic well, gets awsome mileage and best of all if I need to get a tailgater off my butt the engine responds right away.  The bike is never loose on the road and feels solid under my butt.  I would like to find builders of aftermarket parts other than Hyosung, but that will come with time I guess.

Well I haven't ridden one YET but saw the Gv650 at a coffee grind and It spun my head like Linda Blair in the Exorcist. It was night so I Had really look to what it was. found we had a dealer here is little ole' San Luis Obispo,CA  I also saw the little 250 cruiser wow! there went the idea for Angela's Vespa. And I understand the feeling that it new (30 year old manufacture but new to the USA) and not well known but ... it reminds me of what wee say with Japanese cars car and motorcycles way back when...
.I had a friend who loved and rode a Norton interstate Commando( bought his custom chopped Honda 450)Well He took it on a long cross country road trip with a bunch of Harley guy and a guy with the then recent Honda 750
The Harley guy razzed both Matt (Norton) and the Honda dude saying that they won't make it and can't keep up. Well guess who had to stop for Harley breakdowns every single day for 2 weeks. Guess who had to stop and wait for the Harley's to catch up? to fuel up? the British and Japanese got the last laugh!
Hyo SILVER!!! probably a good opportunity for a dealership because they guy are serious about make gasmisers that are a gas to ride. the finish is okay but not up to the Japanese -yet the horsepower? well it lead the pack. Anyone knock out 10,000 miles on one of these?  

Thanks for the info on your GV250. I just bought my first 3 weeks ago and love it.
It is my first bike and I have found it quite easy to feel comfortable with it.
I bought mine to save on gas as well as for pleasure.
Should I feel comfortable taking a 2 to 3 hour road trip on her?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I've had my 2007 GT-650 for 18 mo. and it gets me back and forth to work nicely. I have 29,500+ miles on it and it still going strong.
There are snobs who call it inferior and have never rode one. I've owned Kawasaki's, Honda's, and one Yamaha, and a Ducati 750's. This bike is as good as any of the others that I've ever owned.
There is a 1200cc waiting in the wings that I hope will be out soon.

I have a Zongshen LZX250 and cannot find a repair manual. I would like to do minor repairs myself to keep from having to pay outrageous prices dealers charge. Haven't had any luck at all, have been looking for the last month. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!  

I have an 07GV650 and you cannot beat the power to weight ratio and features for the price of this bike. Don't let it being a 650cc bike fool you. DOHC, 8valves per cylinder, 11.0:1 compression ratio and 11,000rpm red line. Imagine a sport bike motor in a cruiser body. This bike will out perform a lot of larger displacement bikes.

well,i have had my gt250r almost a year now.(in july 09) i have no complaints about it. it rides good handles real well. i have had it up to 100mph. got over 4500 miles on it. added a graphics kit to it. will try and show pictures on here if can. i bought it because i did not see any reasone paying 10,000 up to 14,000 for the other kinds of bikes all brands. so,i say try one and i know u will love it and buy one.hope this helps u.
