I had the S model VTX1300 and put a bunch of miles on it. Literally zero problems in the maintenance department. Very reliable and almost maintenance free.

I have an 05.  No problems, but you may have to provide a better seat for it.

Hey,I have an 06 which I have 4300 miles on and no problems what so ever, I did however go with a mustang seat for more comfort and maybe I'm the only person out there that feels this way but the seat did not help with my comfort but as for my wife the change was significant, she loves it. As far as the bike I don't think you would make a mistake by going with the vtx.
