LOL, life is dangerous. There is no safety on this side of the grave.

You're right, blanket statements are never accurate, no matter who makes them. When someone makes a blanket statement, I tend to make an opposing blanket statement. Anyone who's interested enough to bother looking up the details of the contradictions, will find the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

regards,
Joe

The first incident of its kind in the league's history would not be repeated; nylon mesh nets above the glass behind both goals were made mandatory at every NHL arena from the start of 2002–03 season to protect spectators from errant pucks. The Thursday after the incident, the Blue Jackets took to the ice to play the Detroit Red Wings, their first home game since Brittanie's death. The team wore "BNC" initials on their helmets in her memory and have since created the Brittanie Cecil Memorial Fund, which day collects donations at every Blue Jackets home game.

Mesh Jacket is the one which protects the body.
It is the one of the best among all the jackets.
One should always wear Mesh Jacket in racing.

Mesh motorcycle jackets have become very popular, and with good reason.
Its a very welcome solution to hot-weather riding for those of us who like to have more than Fruit of the Loom between skin and asphalt.

I have an LBZ mesh jacket, hard armour in elbows, shoulders and back with riveted leather over areas mentioned. I really like it. I live in FL and leather is just too damn hot.
The mesh is nice and cool, it fits well and the best part is these sell for $250 just about anywhere but I found a site that has them for $80 shipped!!!!
Sorry I can'tremember the site though

Rich

PS - The zippers are actually smooth to operapte too, unlike many plastic zippers.

nidan:
In terms of protection , most decent mesh jackets have CE armor on the shoulders ,elbows and back , and the materials are generally abrasion resistant.

From a safety point they protect well, and you stand much less chance of making a mental error due to dehydration /over heating .

I wear my mesh jacket above 85 (Tourmaster Intake)
I wear my denim jacket with CE armor from 65-85 (Cortech DSX)

and below 65 I wear my Fox Creek set - Black Rock jacket/chaps

I also have the Intake by tourmaster. Great jacket. I use it in medium weather. I have a new very light HD mesh jacket with lightweight armour in it for hotter (90-112 degrees)i use the inside of the Intake if I have cool (50-60 degrees in the AM and expect above 100 in the afternoon which is almost daily. The Intake is for the in betweens and colder weather, and the leather with waterproof windbreaker and full quilted inner jacket (a little more jacket) than the Intake's quited jacket for 30 degrees (much colder weather) to about 60. Good leathers are supposed to be the best, but hopefully I'll never have to find out. Armour is important regardess of the heat. The HD mesh has pockets for cooling gel packs-they DO help. The air flow right on through. Never compromise your safety. You can learn to keep cool safely and also acclimatize, and keep warm in winter. Only bad conditions should end up being a reason to drive a car or stay home.
